Michael Olis is 5th Grade math teacher Horizon Science Academy Elementary Columbus and Varsity Head coach for Horizon Science Academy High School boys soccer, girls basketball, and track teams. Michael has coached high school athletics for 12 plus seasons in Wisconsin and Ohio, mainly soccer, working various skill levels and development. He has been on many staffs that have won state championships, including teams that were nationally ranked. Originally from Valparaiso, IN, Michael was a 2 sport athlete. He was a 2 time academic All Area in 2 sports. He was also a senior captain for the track team. He attended Marquette University, earning a bachelor’s in Political Science and then earning a Middle Childhood teaching certification as well as a Math minor from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. Michael is a member of several National and regional coaches associations. One of his goals as varsity coach is to integrate students from the classroom to engineer and develop equipment that will benefit the student athlete on and off of the field. He currently lives in Columbus with his wife Jennifer.
